Mahindra Scorpio N: Dark Edition Reaches Dealership Yard

Mahindra Scorpio N already has a Midnight Black color in the choice and while it is a dark shade, it carries its fair bit of chrome and other shiny elements all around. This new Dark Edition, based on the top-spec trims, will ditch the chrome work and get an all-black treatment all the way from the blacked-out 18-inch alloys, and window lines to the door handles, which are all now in pure black. However, you will find chrome inserts on the front grille, but that's just about it as the bumper again goes all black with a blacked-out skid plate.

Interior And Features

The Mahindra Scorpio N Dark Edition gets an all-black Napoli Black treatment in its interior and embraces a sophisticated dark theme, ditching the usual tan brown for a more cohesive feel. Since it's based on the top-tier trim, it's packed with desirable features. Think of a 12-speaker Sony sound system with a subwoofer, dual-zone climate control, a six-way power driver's seat, ventilated front seats, auto-dimming IRVM, front parking sensors, a wireless charger with built-in cooling, power-adjustable outside mirrors with integrated turn signals, and much more. Given the specs of the top-spec trims, the feature list will remain the same as the variant it is based on.

Engine

The Mahindra Scorpio N Dark Edition offers the same engine options as the regular model without any change whatsoever. You can choose between the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel or the 2.0-litre mStallion petrol engine. Both engines have either a manual or an automatic transmission, giving buyers a good range of choices.
Mahindra has just recently teased the Scorpio N in this special edition and since the units have arrived at the stockyards, expect a launch very soon in the coming days.
Verdict
While the Scorpio did offer a black colour option, the latest trend of having an all black car with de-chroming and painting everything in black have budged the brands to introduce these dark-themed editions. While it is based on the top-spec trim which already comes at a premium, this new treatment is likely to demand a premium over the premium, as is the case with every other Dark Edition we have seen so far.
