Mahindra Scorpio X Name Trademarked: Potential Name For Upcoming Pick-up
The Scorpio pickup concept based on Mahindra Scorpio N made its debut in South Africa last year. Internally referred to as Z121, this model is set to become a global offering and will be available in markets including South Africa, Australia, and the Middle East. The upcoming pickup, possibly named the Scorpio X, will utilize a next-generation ladder frame platform designed to achieve high safety ratings.
While the initial concept showcased last year boasted several design elements typical of a concept vehicle, the production version's design is expected to be more subdued. Nonetheless, it will retain a rugged aesthetic, featuring ample cladding and ground clearance suitable for rough terrain. To optimize production costs, it will share certain components with the Scorpio N, potentially including the front fascia, front doors, and interior elements such as the dashboard, steering wheel, instrumentation, and seats.
Equipped with an array of features and technologies, the production version will offer Level 2 Autonomous Driving, semi-automatic parking, and 5G-based connectivity features. Catering to the Indian market's preferences, the pickup will include a sunroof. Additionally, it will feature Trailer Sway Mitigation, an ESP feature designed to detect and counteract trailer sway through brake and throttle control interventions.

Additionally, depending on the market, it will also be available with a petrol engine option. It is expected to launch in India some time in 2025.
