Mahindra Thar 5-Door SUV launch is around the corner. Ahead of the official debut, a test mule has been spotted revealing all the crucial design details.
- It will get a similar design as that of the 3-door model
- No LED headlights or turn indicators
- The interiors look similar to the 3-door model but have no sunroof
As Jan'23 closes by, the excitement in the automotive sector increases. A lot of new models, especially SUVs are bound to debut in India. One such awaited launch is Mahindra Thar 5-Door SUV. However, it has been spied on multiple times on the road. But, this time a production-ready mule is spied on resting at a parking lot. The new spy photos have completely revealed the interiors as well. Read the complete details on what to expect from this upcoming model.

Mahindra Thar 5-Door Design & Features
The exterior design of the 5-door version is more or less similar to the 3-door model. However, the addition of one row has elongated Thar. Meanwhile, its overall design & shape is nearly unchanged. We were expecting that the 5-door will get some added features but it looks like this will not happen. Why? Because the spied car has no LED headlights or LED turn indicators. Even the alloy wheel design looks similar to the current model. Additionally, the rear brakes are still drum setup.
However, the interior design has been spied on for the first time so clearly. A look inside the cabin and one can feel the added space. The second row gets captain seats while the third-row seats are jump seats. But, this layout might get some last moment changes. For example, the jump seats might be replaced by the captain seats in thrid-row. Moreover, the test mule has no sunroof. A complete dealbreaker if Mahindra will do this to the production model as well. Thar 5-Door is going to compete with Maruti Jimny 5-Door. The Jimny gets a sunroof and it will launch in India on 11 Jan'23.
Apart from this, the layout of the dashboard is the same as the current model. Nothing looks changed in the design aspect. The spied car has no infotainment system which possibly means that it is a base variant. Additionally, this might be the reason for the absence of features like LED headlights & sunroof.
Verdict
Mahindra Thar 5-Door is expected to launch in January 2023. It is also being reported online that Mahindra is aiming to spoil Maruti Jimny's grand launch. Meanwhile, Force Gurkha 5-Door is also ready to surprise the industry. A serious battle awaits in the new segment of lifestyle SUVs in India. We expect that the Thar 5-Door will be more costly by Rs 1-2 lakh than the 3-Door model.
