Powertrain Options
You get a choice of engines with the Mahindra Thar: a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol and a 2.2-liter diesel. The petrol version starts off with 150hp power and 330 Nm of torque if you go for the base manual gearbox option. The higher trims of the petrol bump that up to 160 hp power. If you opt for the automatic petrol, you're looking at a pretty hefty 175 hp and 380 Nm of torque. The diesel engine, whether you choose the manual or the rear-wheel-drive automatic, puts out a consistent 150 hp and 330 Nm whereas the top-spec four-wheel-drive automatic diesel gets a little extra, though, with 171 hp power and 370 Nm of torque.
Verdict
The hike is something that the brand already conveyed last month but the quantum is now out in the open. This increase however, is going to have very low to negligible impact on those planning to buy this SUV, owing to the massive craze for the now family friendly off-roader. However, you can still check out the monthly offer if applicable to save a few more bucks while at it!
