Mahindra XUV 3XO EV
The recently spotted test mule was covered in camouflage from the front and rear. The EV version of the 3XO looks similar to the ICE version, but it is expected to get a tweaked front with a closed-off grille and a new bumper. On the sides, the test mule was fitted with similar alloys as the ICE version, but the production variant might get different and more aerodynamic alloy wheels. The electrified version of the 3XO is expected to get some EV specific changes such as front air flaps. Additionally, the charging port will be located on the left front fender of the vehicle.
On the interior, we can expect the same set of features as the ICE variant. It will get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, ADAS among other features. The EV version will get a different gear shifter as compared to the ICE version and it is expected to be the same shifter as the current XUV 400 EV.
As far as the powertrain is concerned, Mahindra will most probably retain the powertrain options of the XUV 400 EV. The XUV 400 EV comes with a 34.5 kWh battery pack offering 375 km of range and the bigger 39.4 kWh battery pack with 456 km of range. The XUV 3XO EV will compete with the upcoming Tata Nexon EV, MG Windsor and other similarly priced EVs.
Verdict
Mahindra is eyeing big on the electric mobility and the brand has recently launched their premium EV offerings the BE 6 and XEV 9e. The upcoming XUV 3XO EV will replace the current XUV 400 Electric. The pricing is expected to be in the same range as the current model but the update will bring a fresh design and a new set of features.
