Scorpio N Carbon Edition after its launch is set to have a new stablemate in the guise of the Mahindra XUV700 Ebony Edition. Brand has teased the upcoming special edition on the twitter page (now X) of the XUV700 where the launch has been set for March 17. It will emphasize a sleek, darkened aesthetic, maintaining the usual design while undergoing a comprehensive blacked-out treatment. This includes a blacked-out front grille and alloy wheels, with darkened chrome accents on the window lining and grille. All standard chrome trims will be eliminated, creating a visually striking, monochromatic appearance.

Mirroring its exterior transformation, the Mahindra XUV700 Ebony Edition's interior will feature a predominantly black theme. This includes blacked-out elements on the dashboard and AC vents, and the replacement of the standard ivory upholstery with a sleek black interior. The core layout and technology, such as the integrated screen serving as both a digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system, steering wheel, features onboard, will remain consistent with the standard model continuing their duties.

The Mahindra XUV700 presents a choice of powertrains: a 200 hp, 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine and a 185 hp, 2.2-liter turbo-diesel engine. Transmission options vary by trim, with the petrol-powered AX7 offering a manual option, while the AX7 L is exclusively automatic. Four-wheel-drive capability is reserved for the top-tier diesel AX7 L variants, incurring an additional cost of Rs 1-1.2 lakh compared to their 2WD automatic counterparts. The dark edition is likely to be offered with the top-spec AX7 L trims in both petrol and diesel guise.
