Honda Amaze CNG
Honda Amaze is the only sedan in the segment that has a single powertrain option. The brand offers the sedan with a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder NA petrol engine. However, all its rivals like the Maruti Dzire, Hyundai Aura, and Tata Tigor come with a factory-fitted CNG powertrain. Now, to make attract the CNG buyers Honda dealers will offer the Amaze with retrofitted CNG kits. These CNG kits will be RTO certified and will not void the warranty of the vehicle. Moreover, these kits will be fitted in the car at dealer level.
The dealers will collaborate with RTO-approved retrofitting centers to get the CNG kit fitted in the Amaze. The customers need to pay around Rs 1 lakh extra to get the CNG kit fitted. Additionally, the dealer will take care of the re-registration of the vehicle as a CNG vehicle.
The Amaze CNG version will be available with a manual transmission option only, and we can expect a drop in power figures for the CNG powertrain option. The petrol version of the Amaze comes with a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine producing 90 bhp of power and 110 Nm of peak torque. For the petrol engine, the brand offers a 5-speed manual and a CVT gearbox option.

Verdict
With the increasing demand of alternate fuel vehicles, the Amaze petrol+CNG version will see a good reception from the customers. The retrofitment done at dealership level will not affect the warranty which will give a peace of mind to the customers. However, the brand has not declared the exact pricing of the fitting and other expenses but this is expected to be around Rs 1 lakh more than the price of petrol version. Also, this price may vary depending on the state and taxation.
