Popular internationally, the new Yamaha Aerox 155 mini-scooter has made its debut in the Indonesian market. Expected to be launched in India soon, here is what the new product offers.
Indonesian market has been the home ground for Yamaha for years. Yamaha offers every product of its portfolio in Indonesia. One such example is the Aerox 155 mini-scooter.
Profoundly known for its crossover styling between a motorcycle and scooter, Aerox has been updated mildly for Indonesian buyers. Already on sale in India, this new iteration is expected to launch soon.
2022 Yamaha Aerox 155 Changes
Retaining its reliable mechanicals and technical aspects, the MY22 Aerox 155 is now offered in a total of 6 new colour options. Two of these colours are specific for ABS variants whilst 4 colour options have been updated in the Connected variant. As this is a mild update only, the changes are hence restricted to colour options only.
Design & Colours
As the Aerox is based on the 'X' crossover between motorcycle and scooter, it features a "Heart Shaking Speedster" design philosophy as badged by Yamaha. Designed with the X factor, the mini-scooter appeals to a younger audience who prefer the practicality of a scooter with a design inspired by a motorcycle.
Yamaha Aerox 155 features a large LED headlamp and sharp styling cues all over the body panels. In the newest iteration, Matte Black Gold color along Matte White colour options have been added to the ABS versions. For the connected variants, Matte Black Cyan, Dark Grey Yellow, Black with Red highlights, and Red with contrasting Black bodywork have been updated.
Features & Specifications
This mini-scooter is powered by a fantastic 155cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke engine which develops a healthy 15 PS of peak power along 13.9 NM of peak torque. Yamaha has equipped this scooter with their patented Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) & Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) technologies. Transmission is a fluent CVT gearbox that helps increase the ease of riding this powerful scooter.
Along with this, Yamaha has equipped this mini-scooter with a 5.8" LCD instrument cluster which offers Bluetooth support. Other notable features include the use of LED headlamps, Integrated DRL LEDs, an LED taillamp, and an external fuel lid.
Yamaha uses an Underbone Frame Type chassis meshed with telescopic front suspension and swingarm suspension at the rear for making it an agile scooter. To support this agile frame, 14-inch tyres are used to attain a perfect mixture of ride and balance.

2022 Yamaha Aerox 155 India Launch
Although no official statement has been drafted sources have suggested that Yamaha is planning to launch this mini-scooter in the Indian market by the second half of this year. With a rich potential for scooters, Yamaha does not want to miss the opportunity to compete with the likes of Vespa, Suzuki & the upcoming Peugeot.
