Renault Cars Now With Extended Warranty Of 3 Years

The standard warranty of Renault cars now covers vehicles for 3 years or 100,000 km, up from the previous 2-year coverage. But that's not all Renault has also expanded its optional warranty coverage, extending it from 5 years to now up to 7 years. This move places Renault among the leaders in its segment for comprehensive warranty protection, which will give customers additional peace of mind. This would help customers avoid any untimely repairs, cutting down the maintenance cost of Renault cars over an extended time period.

Currently, Renault India has a portfolio consisting of 3 models, the Renault Kwid hatch, the Kiger compact SUV, and the Triber MPV. Not just this, the brand is all set to reintroduce the iconic, Renault Duster, after a long pause. This time around, as per the reports, it will be available in a 5-seater and 7-seater version, something along the lines of the XUV700. While the 5-seater option will be introduced by mid-2025, the 7-seater variant is expected sometime in 2026.

Renault Duster Engine Details

Globally, the Duster offers three distinct powertrain choices: a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine, a 1.2-litre mild-hybrid system, and a 1.6-litre strong hybrid option. While speculation suggests the possibility of a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine, borrowed from the Nissan Kicks, being offered in India, the definitive powertrain lineup for the Indian market remains to be seen.

Verdict

The move to extend the warrantly will create a deeper trust within the buyers who are on a lookout for their next rides. While it will bring the maintenance costs down over a longer period, it also signifies the trust that brand has in the quality of its products. However, the big push will be with the launch of Duster, which will give a tough time to Hyundai Creta, its arch rival.
