Tata Punch EV Variants Discontinued: AC Fast Chargers Face The Axe

Tata Motors has decided to phase out all ACFC (7.2 kW fast charging) variants of the Tata Punch EV. This move aims to simplify the lineup and make it easier for buyers to choose the right variant without confusion. The company believes this will streamline the variant structure and improve overall buying clarity. A total of six long-range ACFC variants will no longer be available going forward. The include Adventure LR ACFC, Adventure S LR ACFC, Empowered LR ACFC, Empowered S LR ACFC, Empowered+ LR ACFC, and Empowered+ S LR ACFC. All these variants that can be accompanied with a 7.2 kW charger will be dropped from the list and will be shelved for good.

While the variants are now discontinued, the remaining stock will be available for sale with respective dealerships, and the rest of the line-up will remain the same as before. Notably, Tata Motors had been offering the 7.2 kW AC fast charger with the Punch EV's long-range variants for an additional cost of around Rs 50,000. This charger significantly reduced charging time, from 13.5 hours on standard versions to just 5 hours for a full charge (10%100%). But looks like it wasn't attracting many buyers, a pattern that likely led to this development.
The Tata Punch EV is packed with modern features designed to enhance comfort and convenience and includes a powered sunroof, 360-degree surround-view camera, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, an electronic parking brake, and a fully digital 10.25-inch instrument cluster. This is complemented by a matching 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ensuring a tech-rich experience for the driver and passengers alike.

Verdict
There was a time when Tata Motors had some really confusing trim line-up and the names which they have creased out over time, to make up for a much more customer-friendly list that we now know. The latest trim to the trim line-up is a move aimed at cutting off the variants that bring in lower sales and also to make the brochure look a lot more easy to comprehend.
