Tata Tiago, Tigor Facelifts Coming Next Year
As per the official presentation at its investor's meeting, Tata Tiago and Tigor models are all set for their mid-cycle facelift update sometime next year in 2025. The current-generation Tata Tiago and Tigor were introduced in 2016 and are based on an older platform, originally derived from the Indica hatchback. While Tata is actively working on developing a new platform for the next-generation models, expected to arrive in late 2026 or 2027, the upcoming facelifts will play a crucial role in maintaining the competitiveness of the Tiago and Tigor in the interim. This information will also keep the investor's confidence in the company while prospective buyers would also benefit from this incoming update.
It also is necessary at this point in time to refresh these models as their Maruti rivals, namely the Swift and the Dzire have been refreshed with their generational updates along with some major improvements. Even more so, the Maruti Dzire has also scored a 5-star crash test rating which will be another hiccup as the Dzire has matched the robust safety that Tata is generally known for.

Engine Details
Both models are powered by a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox. Additionally, certain variants offer a factory-fitted CNG kit with a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox. While the power figures on petrol are at 86 PS and 113 Nm of torque, it drops when in CNG mode to 72 PS power and 95 Nm of torque.
Verdict
This latest info would be very useful for those planning on getting a new car from Tata's portfolio as it confirms the updated models timeline. Tiago is almost completing a significant milestone of 6 lakh sales unit since its launch by this month end, which is again a testament to its rock solid mass appeal. While the engine refinement could be a little better than what it is, but given the 3-cylinder nature and the value for money proposition, I don't have much to complain.
