The EV boom in India is clearly evident. In the past few years, dozens of names have come up when it comes to electric two-wheelers. While the popular brands like Ola, Hero Electric, Ather and Okinawa have a good reach and network, there are others like Techo Electra that are relatively lesser know. Even their website didn't really have ample information (like current prices) and we couldn't find enough images or even colour options on offer. However, what we have gathered is that they sell four different electric scooters as now. These are called the Neo, Emerge, Saathi and Raptor.
Let's quickly have a closer look at these scooters. At the same time, don't forget to see our review of the upcoming Simple One Electric scooter below. We rode it in Bengaluru and did come back impressed.
Techo Neo Electric Scooter
This is also known as the Techo Electra V 1.0 Neo. This medium range electric scooter comes with a 250 watt motor that gets power from a 48V 24 AH Li-ion battery. The claimed range is 55-60 km per charge which is pretty average for the segment. Some of the key features of the Techo Electra V 1.0 Neo electric scooter include LED headlights, dual shock absorber rear suspension and tubeless tyres. It is priced at about Rs 55,000.
Techo Raptor Electric Scooter
This seems to be the flagship electric scooter from Techo Electra and gets a claimed range of 100km on a full charge. This is down to the fact that it uses a larger battery - 60V 30AH li-ion set up. The Raptor electric scooter also has a larger 19.5 litre under seat storage space that can take in a half face helmet. Further, it gets 180mm of ground clearance and a dual shock absorber rear suspension. Some key features include a digital speedometer and a reverse mode that is helpful while getting out of tight parking spots. It is priced at about Rs 76,000.
Techo Emerge Electric Scooter
Offering the same 100km range as the Raptor, the Techo Electra Emerge electric scooter is distinctive, thanks to its retro modern design theme. It does try to ape its European counterparts and comes with stylish alloy wheels - but these are on the smaller side, being just 10 inches in size. There is a rear parcel tray as well. On paper, it does have a decent amount of under seat storage and also gets a reverse mode that is helpful while getting out of tight spots. It is priced at about Rs 73,000.
Techno Saathi Electric Scooter
Primarily geared towards the logistics and commercial industry, the Techo Saathi electric scooters offers a lot of utility spaces while having minimal body panels. The Saathi seems rugged as well and comes with tubeless tyres. There is also a front disc brake and the removable battery pack aids usability and can be charged anywhere. As can be seen here, the scooter has the provision to carry items / boxes up front, at the back and between the rider's legs. It is priced at about Rs 62,000
All these four offerings are ARAI (Automotive Researh Association of India) certified. To know your nearest Techo Electric dealer and the exact current prices, do have a look at their website.
