Hyundai Verna Price Hiked
Hyundai has bumped up the price of its Verna sedan by Rs. 7,000 across the entire model range. This means the sole sedan from the South Korean marquee now starts at Rs. 11.07 lakh and goes up to Rs. 17.55 lakh (ex-showroom). The Verna is the latest Hyundai model to see a price increase, joining a number of other models like the Creta, Alcazar, Tucson, and Aura. The updated price list looks something like this:

Engine Details
The Hyundai Verna gives buyers two distinct engine options. A 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, good for 113 bhp and 144 Nm of torque, can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT. For those seeking more thrills, a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine is also available, boosting output significantly to 158 bhp and 253 Nm of torque. This more potent engine is exclusively offered with a 7-speed DCT. While this spirited engine offers more power, don't expect a very high fuel economy from this one, which is something that performance-oriented buyers are generally not looking for anyway.
Verdict
A Rs. 7,000 price increase on the Hyundai Verna is relatively small, especially when you consider the overall cost of the car. It's unlikely to be a deal-breaker for most buyers. However, it's always wise to check with your local Hyundai dealer for any current promotions or discounts and if you can land a MY24 model for yourself, the offers and benefits are running quite high with the previous year models.
