Mahindra has recently launched a carbon edition of their Scorpio N, taking boldness to the next level. If the regular Scorpio N wasn't intimidating enough for you, here's an even darker and sportier version of it. But the question arises; what makes this carbon edition stand out?

Design

When it comes to design, we'll talk about what this carbon edition has to offer than the regular version. It carries forward the same silhouette of Scorpio N along with LED DRLs and fog lamps. The headlamps and taillamps get smoked chrome inserts, along with blacked-out elements on the roof rails, alloy wheels, ORVMs and window cladding as well.
Additionally, the front and rear skid plates, along with door claddings, are finished in dark grey instead of silver, and the door handles also get a dark finish. Stepping inside the cabin, the interior layout is identcal except for the all-black theme. It gets black leatherette seats along with an aluminium trim surrounding the infotainment screen and AC vents.

Features

When it comes to the features, there are no significant additions; it gets the same set of features as the regular variant. It boasts a plethora of features, including an 8-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch digital drivers display, a 12-speaker Sony sound system, a single-pane sunroof, wireless phone charger, a 6-way electrically adjustable drivers seat, ventilated front seats, auto AC, automatic headlights and wipers.
In terms of safety, it includes six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), front and rear parking sensors, a rear parking camera, hill hold and hill descent control, driver drowsiness detection, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, disc brakes on all wheels and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
Powertrain

Mechanically, the Carbon edition remains unchanged, offering the same powertrains as the regular variant. It has two engine options: a 2-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 2.2-litre diesel engine. The petrol unit generates 203 PS and 370 Nm of torque, while the diesel unit produces 175 PS and 400 Nm of torque. These units are clubbed along with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. However, the petrol comes only with an RWD configuration, whereas the diesel unit gets to choose between RWD and 4WD.
Pricing
The Mahindra Scorpio N Carbon is available at a price tag of Rs 19.19 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 24.89 lakh (ex-showroom). It is only available with higher spec variants Z8 and Z8L with a price difference of Rs 20,000 from the regular variant.
