Triumph has increased the price of its most affordable motorcycle in India. With an ex-showroom price of Rs. 7,45,000, the Triumph Trident competes against the likes of Kawasaki Z650 and Honda CB650R.
The Trident 660 gets its first price hike since its launch last year. Triumphs entry-level middle-weight roadster was launched in April 2021 at an introductory price of Rs. 6,95,000. With the current hike, the bike now costs Rs. 7,45,000. Its competitors, the retro-looking Kawasaki Z650 RS costs Rs. 6,72,000; and the uber-retro looking Honda CB 650RS costs Rs. 8.67 lakhs.
The price hike comes as part of the annual hike, that every automotive product goes through at the start of the year. Despite the price hike the Triumph Trident 660 doesnt see any changes for 2022.

Mechanically, the Trident will continue to be powered by the 660 cc, inline-three engine that churns out 79.8 bhp @10,250 RPM and 64 Nm of peak torque as early as 6250 RPM. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch mechanism as standard, and a quick shifter for additional costs.
Structural-wise, the Trident is built around a tubular steel perimeter frame, and the body suspends on 41 mm upside-down Showa suspension, with separate function forks (SFF) at the front, and a Showa mono-shock RSU, with pre-load adjustment at the rear. The Trident rides on 17-inch cast alloy aluminum wheels at both ends, with twin-310mm floating disc brakes with Nissin two-piston sliding caliper at the front and a 255 mm single disc brake with Nissin single-piston brake caliper for the rear wheel. Dual-channel ABS is available on both, which unfortunately cannot be switched off, however, the available traction control can be completely switched off.
