The Mavrick 440 from Hero will feature LED lighting, including a round headlight, and a broad fuel tank with modest shrouds at the front. Notably, the test mule has indicated a departure from the X440, as the Mavrick will incorporate telescopic front forks and a smaller front wheel configuration. The exhaust canister design on the Mavrick is distinct from the X440. Furthermore, the Mavrick's design leans more towards a roadster style rather than a cruiser.
The Mavrick 440 exhibits a robust fuel tank, contributing to its roadster persona, with extensions leading to a faux air intake, elevating its overall allure. It sports alloy wheels that differ from the X440 and a straight exhaust pipe, reminiscent of its Harley-Davidson counterpart. Its distinctive choice of a smaller 17-inch front rim deviates from the common 19-inch wheel found on the HD, setting it apart with a unique design approach.
Powertrain
The Mavrick is set to be propelled by a 440cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine, delivering 27bhp and 38Nm of torque. Paired with a five-speed gearbox, the bike is anticipated to come equipped with features such as full LED lighting, a digital console with potential smartphone connectivity, dual-channel ABS, a USB port, and a side stand sensor.
The launch of the Hero Mavrick is scheduled for January 22, with an expected ex-showroom price of below Rs. 2 lakh. Once introduced, it will compete against contenders such as the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Hunter 350, and the Triumph Speed 400.
Verdict
As the Hero Mavrick 440 gears up for its anticipated launch on January 22, it brings a promising blend of distinctive design, performance, and rider-friendly features. Positioned in the competitive mid-range motorcycle segment, the Mavrick is poised to create a strong impact with its unique styling and well-balanced attributes.
