Tata Tiago EV Plum Midnight Color Theme Discontinued
Tata Tiago EV, one of India's most popular electric vehicles, previously offered five color options: Pristine White, Midnight Plum, Teal Blue, Daytona Grey, and Tropical Mist. However, the Midnight Plum shade has now been discontinued, leaving the model with four remaining colors, the change is effective immediately, and dealerships have been informed. Customers who had pre-booked the Tiago EV with the Midnight Plum option will be contacted and given alternative color choices. Apart from this update, the Tiago EV remains unchanged in all other aspects.
The Tata Tiago EV comes equipped with a solid range of tech features, including a 7-inch infotainment display, a cooled glovebox, a digital instrument cluster, and connected car technology. It also offers amenities like automatic climate control, cruise control, an 8-speaker sound system, a 45W USB-C charging port, an auto-dimming IRVM, and push-button start/stop. On the safety front, the Tiago EV is well-equipped with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, TPMS, a rear parking camera with dynamic guidelines, and more.
Battery And Range Details
The Tata Tiago EV is available in four trims: XE, XT, XZ Plus, and XZ Plus Tech, with both medium and long-range versions to choose from. The medium-range variants are equipped with a 19.2 kWh battery, while the long-range models feature a 24 kWh battery. The claimed range for these variants is 250 km and 315 km, respectively where the starting price for the Tata Tiago EV is set at Rs. 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
Verdict
While this update downsizes the colour pallete, the car in itself is a pretty solid product. The move to discontinue this could have stemed from the low demand of this particular shade, which seems to be the only logical explaination for this. However, it was updated just recently with the inclusion of two new features, auto-dimming IRVM and the 45 watt USB C charging port, improving the fucntionality and comfort for the occupants.
