Pros & Cons of Suzuki Katana
Suzuki Katana Detailed Review
The Suzuki Katana naked sports motorcycle is finally here in India. The Suzuki Katana is globally appreciated for its iconic design and bold looks. The Suzuki Katana was first introduced in 1981 and the latest iteration of the Suzuki Katana enjoys a similar design pattern as seen in its ancestors. The unique rectangular headlight looks retro as well as modern with LED treatment. The headlight cowl is stretched and mated to the fuel tank via fixed extensions that provide it a look like a Japanese sword. The unique styling is further extended towards the rear of the Katana. The rear section of Suzuki Katana endorses a rather short-tail design layout. The LED taillight takes over the majority of the rear body panels. Apart from the taillight, there is pretty much nothing to cover the fat rear tyre and the rear mechanical components. The use of contrasting alloy wheels looks fantabulous on the new Suzuki Katana.
Summary
The design of Suzuki Katana is unique and attention-grabbing on the go.

Fuel Tank Capacity | 12 liters |
The Japanese manufacturers are well known for making one of the most reliable as well as powerful engines. The Suzuki Katana is no different as it has been equipped with one of the finest engines and specs available in the segment. It comes fitted with a 999cc, inline-four-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine. This engine is already BS6 compliant to meet the emission norms in India. This mammoth of an engine produces a peak power output of 152 hp and 106 Nm of peak torque figures. This power is delivered to the rear tyre via the use of a 6-speed gearbox. This gearbox further uses a slipper-assist clutch to make the power delivery seamless, especially at the redline gear shifting. The performance of this engine is ballistic and the Suzuki Katana pulls like a train over the road. The Suzuki Katana is also equipped with various ride modes that riders can switch via a toggle button on the go. This tech makes the performance of Suzuki Katana more user-friendly.
Summary
The engine & performance of Suzuki Katana is ballistic and fast as per the segment standards.
Katana engine specifications:
Mileage | 23 kmpl |
Engine Displacement | 999 cc |
Top Speed | 243 kmph |
Power | 150.19 bhp @ 11000 rpm |
Torque | 106 Nm @ 9250 rpm |
The Suzuki Katana comes equipped with a 120/70 – 17 inch front tyre and a 190/50 – 17 inch rear tyre setup. This setup helps the rider to achieve great confidence over the speeding corners and fast roads. The Suzuki Katana is a naked sports bike and it is designed to be used within the city limits rather than on the track. But, thanks to the tyre setup, Suzuki Katana can easily vouch for track days and make them enjoyable for the riders. Speaking of the brakes, the front system consists of a dual-disc setup with Brembo calipers. To assist with high-speed braking, Suzuki Katana also comes with steel braided lines at the front as well as at the rear brake. At the rear, Suzuki Katana is equipped with a single-disc brake with Brembo calipers and dual-channel ABS for amazing braking power. The overall setup of tyres & brakes on Katana is amazingly brilliant.
Summary
The tyres & brakes of Suzuki Katana are brilliant and confidence-inspiring.
Suzuki Katana is one big motorcycle and this can be estimated through its body dimensions. The length of the bike stands at 2130 mm, the width is 820 mm, and the height is 1100 mm. This design makes the Suzuki Katana look bigger than its actual size. Also, the 217 kg of kerb weight makes the Suzuki Katana more enjoyable as compared to its rivals. Suzuki has managed to keep the wheelbase to a minimum of 1460 mm which helps in city riding. This makes the Suzuki Katana more flick-able inside the tight traffic conditions. Lane switching is easy due to the short wheelbase. The high-set seat height at 825 mm is going to be a problem for short-height riders. Also, the 140 mm of ground clearance translates that it will be difficult to manage the Suzuki Katana in bumper-to-bumper traffic conditions. The fuel tank capacity of Suzuki Katana is 12 liters which are enough for Indian conditions.
Summary
The dimensions of the Suzuki Katana are big, bold, and beautiful.
