Last Updated on 8th Sep'25: Lexus India has announced a price reduction across its entire lineup, fully passing on the benefits of the recent GST rate revision. From the ES to the flagship LX, prices have dropped as GST on luxury cars has been reduced, and they will come into effect from September 22, 2025.
The Lexus ES, a midsize luxury sedan currently in its seventh generation, received its last update in 2024. Now, Lexus has globally unveiled the all-new eighth-generation ES, and the big news is that it will be offered as a fully electric model. - The Lexus ES features a completely new design that is more sporty and gives the vehicle a sharp profile. It has a new-generation Spindle body with a commanding stance and well-balanced proportions that make it easier to get in and out. The front now features Twin L-Signature Lamps. The inward-facing LED DRLs and outward-facing turn signals create a double signature, giving the vehicle a unique identity.
- The rear profile of the new-gen ES features a new design icon—the Rear L-Signature Lamp, making it instantly recognizable as a Lexus. It seamlessly integrates the illuminated Lexus logo, while the single light bar combines the taillight and stoplight functions. On the sides, it gets 21-inch aero alloy wheels that enhance the overall side profile.
- The new Lexus ES is available in five colour options: White Nova, Sonic Titanium, Graphite Black, Sonic Copper, and Sou
- On the inside, the Lexus ES offers a luxurious cabin experience, presenting a simple, clean interior with an open, airy upper section for superior visibility. - The new Lexus ES is built on the brand’s TNGA GA-K platform, featuring a reinforced and highly rigid structure that helps reduce vibrations while improving steering response, acceleration, and overall driving dynamics. In terms of dimensions, the ES measures 5,145 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, 1,575 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,950 mm.
- Mechanically, it is equipped with a MacPherson strut suspension at the front, while a multi-link rear suspension has been introduced on the ES. The DIRECT4 system further enhances traction and handling stability across varying road conditions. By integrating front and rear eAxles with advanced AWD control, it also improves power efficiency while maintaining confident driving performance. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes on all four wheels.
- Powered by a 74.8 kWh battery pack, the ES 500e offers a claimed range of 580 km on a single charge. It is compatible with both AC and DC fast charging, and with a 150 kW charger, it can charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 28 minutes. Lexus has confirmed the launch of the new-generation ES in India on March 20, 2026, bringing a significantly updated luxury sedan to the market. The new model is larger, more tech-loaded and features a sharper design along with a revamped interior, while continuing with a strong hybrid focus. It is expected to be priced between Rs 65 lakh and Rs 70 lakh (ex-showroom) and will rival German midsize luxury sedans.
The 2025 Lexus ES has now been unveiled globally with an all-new design, larger dimensions, and a more minimalist, tech-heavy cabin, while introducing hybrid and, for the first time, fully electric powertrain options. It is expected to head to India soon, although the exact specifications and variants for the market are yet to be confirmed.
