This seems to be the best time to put down your money for a small capacity adventure tourer. End of 2023 saw Royal Enfield launching the all-new Himalayan and now its Yezdi's turn to up the game with the massively updated 2024 Yezdi Adventure. As the owner of the previous model, I was more than happy to fly down to wet and rainy Pune to experience the new facelift model. Is this your perfect companion for the planned Ladakh adventure? 2024 Yezdi Adventure Design
- Overall design remains unchanged
- New sticker work, 4 colors on offer
- Exhaust routing changed, slimmer radiator
- Smaller, light tank side brace on offer
Why change what isn't broken? This statement holds true for the Yezdi Adventure as well. The overall design remains same and you can purchase the motorcycle in four color options. These include Black (Rs 2,09,900), Maroon (Rs 2,12,900), Grey (Rs 2,15,900) and White (Rs 2,19,900) - all prices being ex-showroom. That said, the sticker work is new and you do get 'EST 69' graphics on the side tank brace. This brace by the way is a mandatory accessory and not included in the price of the bike.
Talking of the brace - it is smaller than the older version and means a weight saving of 3.5 kg. This, in turn, betters the centre of gravity and gives the bike a cleaner side look. The Yezdi Adventure is a good looking motorcycle and without the 'legal' Sari Guard, it looked smart enough from the rear as well. The 2024 modes rides on the same 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels with tube-type tyres.
At 220mm, the bike's ground clearance is impressive enough and for extreme rides, you get a proper metal bash plate. The radiator has slimmed down from the previous iteration and the exhaust is now routed from under the engine. The seat, though looks same, has different padding and I will discuss that at a later stage. Also, make sure to join our 91Wheels WhatsApp channel to get the latest automotive updates regularly
2024 Yezdi Adventure Engine
- Yezdi calls this the Alpha 2 engine
- Heavily updated version of older unit
- Refinement up, stalling down, good punch on offer
- Exhaust is new and still has the DB killer
This is where a lot of updates have taken place. While the basic powertrain remains same, Yezdi calls it the Alpha 2 engine and the motor does feel different. The updated BS6 Phase 2 emission norms have taken a toll in the form of 0.6 PS of power but given the lighter (4.5kg) weight, performance hasn't taken a hit. Infact, the first three gears have been reworked for peppier and more responsive city rides. The notorious stalling issues have also come down and taking into consideration customer feedback, the idle rpm has been lowered
The older Adventure had its share of roughness, but the newer model feels considerably smoother. The updated crankshaft is the reason here. Further, the clutch is new and leads to 50% reduction in effort - a big boon for start-stop traffic. Out on open roads around our location, the Yezdi Adventure seemed to sit at triple digit speeds without a fuss. This is a good for what is a sub 350cc adventure bike. Even at these speeds, you have ample poke to overtake faster moving traffic.
The exhaust is new, and the option of removing the DB killer continues. Though this reduces back pressure, it does up the vocals and will be preferred by many owners. On the engine front, officials at the event were very outspoken about its long-term durability and reliabilitythis should infuse confidence in the minds of new buyers. The bike gets a slipper clutch as well and carries over the updated (slimmer) liquid cooling set-up from the new Jawa Classic 350. However, do note, even while riding in drizzle, around the trails, the radiator fan did switch on easily and as a rider, you do feel the heat.
2024 Yezdi Adventure Ride
- Retains the same chassis & tyres
- Updated suspension with reworked damping
- Seats feel softer now, same seat height as before
- Three ABS modes on offer
If you are coming from a smaller, lighter motorcycle to the Yezdi Adventure, getting used to the size and weight takes a ride or two and that's about it. The seat height is manageable for anyone who is 5'10" and taller, the narrow dimensions don't intimidate you while off-roading and the suspension travel is excellent for adventure use. Talking of which, we did have our share of trails and off-road tracks at the location and the bike felt at home. Reworking of the lower gears shows the benefits and this along with ample ground clearance helped us negotiate deep slush pits and rocks as well. Pune was having its share of rains and the faster trails were fun - standing on the pegs came in easy and most of us didn't end up kissing Mother Earth - this thanks to the dual purpose tyres.
Out on open roads, the bike is in a relaxed mode. I like the way it takes care of pot holes and broken tarmac. The rear is adjustable and, given my past experience, will not wallow under heavy load and at higher speeds. The altered damping is evident, and this bike deserves top marks from a ride & handling point of view. The switches on the left handle bar allow you to toggle between three ABS modes of Road, Rain and Off-road. The last one is also the 'fun' mode wherein you can lock the rear and get the bike to swing out. On a serious note, this is helpful when you don't want ABS to get in your way during adventure stints. The 'softer' seat is better than the older one and much appreciated by heavy riders like yours truly!

2024 Yezdi Adventure Verdict
Classic Legends group is genuinely trying hard to rectify teething issues in their products. The updated Jawa 350 Classic was a perfect example, and now I see the same trend in the Yezdi Adventure. As an update, it is a massive leap from the original model. Improvements have been made in several departments and an attractive sticker price is the icing on the cake. If you have been waiting to get into adventure touring, this is the best time to invest into this capable bike. Enough said!
Verdict
The 2024 Yezdi Adventure is more than an update. It feels refined, is peppier and comes with ample features to justify the asking price. The engine can take triple digit touring speeds with ease and I love the way it looks. Go for it!
