The Carens Clavis is definitely a bigger car in every aspect and even better looking. That said, the XL6 also has a rugged appeal to it, and everyone loves its tall stance; however, Clavis is just miles ahead, simply on the basis of overall design. It feels more sophisticated and upmarket. Some exterior highlights of both MPVs are:

Interior

Comparing the interiors of both these MPVs feels like comparing a Gold with a Cooper, as the Carens Clavis has so much to offer in terms of features and overall cabin experience that the XL6 doesn't even come close. For instance, Clavis offers a 26.62-inch panoramic display consisting of a 12.25-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and 12.25 inches of MID. Plus, there's a large panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, a 4-way electrically adjustable driver's seat, ambient lighting, air-cooled cup holders, and whatnot.

On the other hand, the XL6 has a 7-inch infotainment screen, a semi-digital MID, automatic AC, air-cooled cup holders, front ventilated seats, 360-parking camera, and three 12V charging sockets - one in each row. Plus, all windows in Maruti Nexa cars come with UV-cut glasses, which allow less heat to get inside the cabin.

One major aspect of these cars is safety, and in the Kia Carens Clavis, 6 airbags are standard, along with ABS with EBD, ESC, rear parking sensors, all four disc brakes, TPMS, hill hold assist, and more. On top of that, it comes equipped with Level 2 ADAS with 20 autonomous features. In comparison, the XL6 offers only 4 airbags but still includes ABS with EBD, hill hold assist, and a high-speed alert system as standard safety features across all variants.

Engine Specifications
Kia Carens Clavis will be available with three engine options - the same as Kia Carens - and all of them are super refined and have their own perks. So, there is a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.5L turbo petrol, and a 1.5L diesel, plus there are multiple gearboxes on offer, which I will mention just below. On the other hand, the Maruti XL6 has just one engine - a 1.5L NA petrol - but it is also mated to a CNG tank, which has a claimed fuel efficiency of 26.32 km/kg. On top of that, the performance of this engine is also commendable, however, don't expect it to be super tatic like Kia engines.

Verdict
Pricing of the Carens Clavis isn't out, we believe it will cost the same as the Carens - from Rs 11 to 20 lakh. So, clearly Kia has so much more to offer. Despite that fact, the Clavis just feels like a modern car with all the essential modern features and tech, and the XL6 appears to be a car from last decade. It's high time Maruti should upgrade this vehicle.
