Based on the extremely popular Ertiga MPV, the Maruti Suzuki XL6 debuted in 2019 as a more premium-looking and feature-packed alternative. With its last update, the XL6 got a few tweaks to its front fascia, rear lights, new design for the alloy wheels and more features in the cabin. With these changes, it began to appear as a more desirable alternative to the ageing Mahindra Marazzo.
However, at this time, the Kia Carens also began to affirm its presence with a more premium appeal and longer equipment list, making it a stellar MPV. Verdict
The Maruti Suzuki XL6 might not be as heavily equipped as the Kia Carens, which has become the benchmark in the compact MPV space with its modern design, feature-packed cabin and most spacious and comfortable cabin. However, where the XL6 feels the most advantageous MPV over the other two is fuel efficiency, with its petrol engine being nearly identical to the diesel engines of Carens and Marazzo in overall mileage figures. Also, with the Maruti Suzuki badge backing its presence, the overall after-sales experience is better than that of Kia and Mahindra across the country.
