The Skoda Kylaq comes with a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine clubbed and a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter unit. This unit gives 115 ps of power and 178 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the Kia Syros offers two engine options: 1.0-litre T-GDi petrol clubbed with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT and 1.5 CRDi diesel engine paired with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. The petrol unit churns out 120 PS and 172 Nm of torque, whereas the diesel unit generates 116 PS and 250 Nm of torque.

Coming to the mileage, Kylaq's petrol unit with manual transmission gives out a claimed fuel efficiency of 19.05 KmpL, Whereas the torque converter automatic unit gives out 19.68 km in a litre. When it comes to Kia Syros, the petrol manual variant delivers 18.20 kmpl while the petrol automatic delivers 17.68 kmpl. For diesel fans out there, the manual gives out the best fuel economy of 20.75 kmpl while the 7-speed DCT version delivers 17.65 kmpl.

Features

Skoda Kylaq Interior

In terms of features, the Kylaq gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment with Andriod Auto and AppleCarplay. The entry-level spec is limited to 5-inch infotainment along with a semi-digital instrument cluster. Additionally, it offers an electric sunroof, ventilated front seats, and single or dual-tone interior options with leatherette upholstery. The list doesn't end here, it has 25 active and passive safety features with six airbags, ABS with EBD, differential lock, rollover protection, ESC and multi-collision brake.

Kia Syros Interior

On the other hand, the Kia Syros boasts a fresh interior with digital cockpit. Syros features a 12.3-inch infotainment along with the same 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster plus a 5 Inch touch control for ac, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, electronic parking brake, 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, ventilated seats for all passengers, wireless charging, reclining and sliding second-row seats with a centre armrest and 60:40 split and even a powered driver's seat. When it comes to safety, it is fully loaded with features such as 6 airbags, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree camera and level 2 ADAS features.

Verdict

Both Kylaq and Syros bring strong figures to the table. In terms of mileage, the Skoda Kylaq performs better in petrol variants, offering superior efficiency, especially in the automatic version. On the other hand, the Kia Syros excels in the diesel segment, delivering significantly better fuel economy. If petrol efficiency is your priority, the Kylaq is the top choice, but for diesel, the Syros stands out with its impressive mileage.
