Suzuki e-Access Vs Honda Activa e: Undoubtedly, the Suzuki Access and the Honda Activa are well-known scooters and some of the best-selling nameplates in India. Taking note of the growing EV demand, both of these popular scooters have their electric counterparts. Whereas Honda became a part of the electric shift by launching two EV scooters- the Activa e: and QC1- Suzuki has played safe by launching an electric version for its popular nameplate only.
While both brands have a good customer base, and even in the ICE version, Access and Activa compete with each other, I thought I would come up with a detailed comparison of the electric versions of these two, and finally, it's the day to do that. From this article, you can expect a detailed buyer-centric comparison of the Suzuki e-Access and the Honda Active e on all important parameters. Before moving ahead, I would appreciate it if you would join our fastest growing 91Wheels WhatsApp Community to stay updated on the latest automotive updates.

Suzuki e-Access Vs Honda Activa e: Powertrain

Being an EV, the Suzuki e-Access comes powered by a 4.1 kW motor, which is capable of generating a maximum torque output of 15 Nm. The fitted motor takes power from a fixed-type 3.7 kWh battery pack, which is capable of providing a maximum range of 95 km/charge. When it comes to acceleration, the e-Access maxes out at 71 kmph. The last point to be mentioned in this section- the charging time. If charged with a standard portable charger, the Suzuki e-Access takes around 6 hours and 42 minutes to reach from 0-100 level, and when charged by a fast charger, the charging time is reduced to 2 hours and 12 minutes.

In comparison, the Honda Activa e comes equipped with a 6 kW motor that produces 22 Nm torque (higher than the e-Access). Power is sourced from two swappable type 1.5 kWh batteries (smaller than the e-Access's 3.7 kWh). Despite using a smaller combined battery capacity of 3kWh, the Activa e: claims a maximum range of 102 km/charge (7 km more than the e-Access). The electric iteration of the Activa also excels in top speed as it touches the 80 kmph mark (higher than the e-Acccess) and is capable of doing 0-60 kmph in 7.3 seconds.
Suzuki e-Access Vs Honda Activa e: Design

For some, design could be or is one of the primary parameters to buy a vehicle. So, let's talk about the design part of both these scooters, starting with the e-Access. Suzuki comes with a sporty, a bit futuristic and minimal deign language. While multiple design elements have been changed, you can still see a reflection of the Access ICE in it. You get all LED lighting with the scooter. Once launched, the Suzuki e-Access will be offered in three dual-tone colour schemes, which include Metallic Mat Black No. 2 and Metallic Mat Bordeaux Red, Pearl Grace White and Metallic Mat Fibroin Gray, and Pearl Jade Green and Metallic Mat Fibroin Gray.

On the other hand, the Activa e resembles the Active ICE in its aesthetics, but this doesn't mean that there are no changes to the design. The electric Activa differentiates from its ICE counterpart with its sleeker headlamps and taillamps. You get 12-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and a grab rail for better pillion comfort. The Honda Active e is available in five colour options, including Pearl Misty White, Pearl Shallow Blue, Pearl Serenity Blue, Pearl Igneous Black and Foggy Silver Metallic. Concluding the design part for the Active e, I would like to say that you will be able to see and feel the ICE Activa in it, with an electric powertrain.
Suzuki e-Access Vs Honda Active e: Features

Both Access and Activa Electric get modern features when compared to their ICE powered versions. The e-Access gets a TFT display, supporting smartphone connectivity and navigation. Also, you can get traffic alerts via the brand's own Suzuki Ride Connect e-App. The TFT cluster serves other functions such as the speedometer, odometer, battery, range, basic telltale lights and tripmeter. Other notable features include a keyless start and ride modes- Eco, Ride A and Ride B.

In terms of features, the Honda Activa e gives stiff competition to the electric Access. Honda has provided it with a 7-inch TFT display (bigger than the e-Access), which the rider can control from the physical buttons/ toggle switches positioned on the handlebar. The TFT display enables features such as real-time connectivity, over-the-air updates, maintenance alerts, and topple alerts. Other features include a 40w USB-C charging socket, Smart Find, Smart Safe, Smart Unlock and Smart Start. Keep in mind that the lower variant of the Activa electric comes equipped with a smaller five-inch TFT display that doesn't support features such as navigation, live-tracking, OTA updates, Smart Find, Smart Safe and Smart Start.

Which One Should You Buy?

However, the Access EV official launch is still pending, but we are expecting the official launch to happen soon. Still, our guesswork says that it will be launched with a starting price tag of Rs. 1.20 lakh. On the other hand, the already launched Activa e prices start at Rs. 1.17 lakh (ex-sh) and go up to Rs. 1.51 lakh for the Honda Roadysync Duo variant.

Here, I will not announce one of these a winner, because they are your preferences and requirements that make one a winner. But I will surely make the game easy for you to decide. In terms of powertrain and features, the Activa e: takes the lead with a higher range and better tech on offer. On the other hand, Access Electric offer a slightly lower range (95 km/charge), but when it comes to design, some of you or maybe many of you may find the Access better than the Activa e's traditional aesthetics. This is all I can say under the sub-head "Which One Should You Buy"; now the decision is altogether yours.

Verdict
If you prioritize range, power, and tech, the Honda Activa e: is the clear winner with its higher top speed, swappable batteries, and advanced features. However, if you prefer a sportier, fresher design with Suzuki's reliability, the e-Access makes sense. Both have their strengths, but Activa e: edges ahead with better specs and a lower starting price.
