Hero MotoCorp launched the new 2020 Hero Xtreme 160R BS6 in India in June this year. The new Xtreme 160R was one of the most anticipated Hero MotoCorp motorcycles of recent times. This Premium Sporty Commuter was launched in June at an incredible starting price of Rs. 99,950, Ex-showroom Delhi. It undercut all its rivals in terms of price. However, Hero MotoCorp has now hiked the price of the new 2020 Hero Xtreme 160R BS6. So, today we will be doing a price comparison of the Xtreme 160R against its rivals.
As already mentioned before, the Xtreme 160R was launched at a starting price of Rs. 99,950, Ex-showroom Delhi. This motorcycle is available in two variants - Front Disc and Dual Disc. The Front Disc variant was earlier priced at Rs. 99,950 while the Dual Disc variant was priced at Rs. 1,03,500. However, now after a nominal price hike of around 2,000 rupees, the Front Disc variant is priced at Rs. 1,02,000 while the Dual Disc variant retails at Rs. 1,05,050. Now, as you have seen how does the Hero Xtreme 160R BS6 fare against the competition, let's have a quick look at its specifications. The new 2020 Hero Xtreme 160R is powered by a new BS6-compliant 163cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with XSens fuel-injection technology. This motor churns out 15.2 PS of power at 8500 RPM and 14 Nm of torque at 6500 RPM. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. It is the lightest motorcycle in its segment weighing just 138.5 kilograms. Also, it is the fastest bike in its class in the 0-60 kmph sprint as it does from 0-60 kmph in just 4.7 seconds.
The new Hero Xtreme 160R is a stunning looking motorcycle and it comes loaded with a good amount of features too. It is the only motorcycle in its class that gets the all-LED lighting system. Also, it gets an inverted all-digital instrument cluster which is loaded with a lot of information. It also gets a hazard light switch. For suspension duties, it gets 37 mm telescopic forks at the front and a 7-step rider-adjustable mono-shock absorber at the rear. The braking duties are performed by a 276 mm petal disc at the front and at the rear, one can choose between a 220 mm petal disc and a 130mm drum unit. It also gets single-channel ABS for added safety.
