India's leading car maker will be showcasing, or even probably launching the updated 2020 Maruti Ignis at the Auto Expo in Feb'20. SuzukiGarage on Instagram has uploaded a few pictures of what is being speculated as to be the updated styling of the tall boy hatchback.
As seen, the front is heavily revised and the standout detailing comes from the S-Presso inspired 'tooth' grille that we have also seen in a lot of Mahindra vehicles. Apart from this, the bumper gets re-styling to make it look cleaner and meaner. At the back, changes are apparent with the new version getting an all-new bumper that has red reflectors on either end. It does away with the rectangular matt black cladding of the current version.
While there are no other images available of the interiors, it is safe to assume that there might be minor tweaks to the cabin design of the 2020 Maruti Ignis. The wheel cap and alloy wheel design, however, remain the same as seen in the images.
Apart from design tweaks, the updated 2020 Maruti Ignis will also get a BS-VI compliant 1.2-litre K12 engine. The engine will continue to offer the same output levels of 83 PS and 113 Nm. An optional AMT or automated manual transmission will also on offer. Expect the same levels of efficiency as well.
The current Maruti Ignis range starts at Rs 4.7 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and its safe to say that the BS-VI version might carry a slightly higher sticker price. That said, the current car carries high discounts and offers which do end up making the deal sweeter for the buyer. Will this be the case for the 2020 model? Stay tuned!
