2022 Koleos SUV Details
Renault used to sell the Koleos in India since it stepped into the domestic market. However, the premium SUV did not find many buyers. Maybe it was ahead of its time or maybe the premium SUV segment was still not ready to bloom. Nevertheless, the Koleos was discontinued leaving a gap in the segment. However, Renault is again testing its 2022 global version in India. In fact, the first-ever test mule was spied earlier in February this year.
The latest test car is spied along the outskirts of Chennai. It is completely uncovered indicating interesting facts. The new Koleos uses the CMF platform which has been co-jointly developed with Nissan. Additionally, other cars like the Akarna sedan use this platform. However, the uncamouflaged version of Koleos indicates that it is on a component test run. Most manufacturers tend to run international models without camouflage for component testing. Meanwhile, the CMF platform is something that is interesting to notice.
The CMF platform beholds a lot of international models like the Koleos itself. If the testing is for CMF localization; then expect good news in the future. The Koleos, however, is still far from its launch for now. Why? Well, because the test car is without camouflage. Additionally, there is no official info regarding the Koleos to launch in India. However, it will be interesting if Renault launches it here. If launched, it will compete with the Hyundai Tucson & Citroen C5 Aircross directly.
Meanwhile, Renault seems to be doing good with its Kwid, Kiger, & Triber in India. However, the addition of premium models will only expand its portfolio.
