2023 Hyundai Verna - Design & Features
The design of the new Verna has not hidden anymore. The company has already teased the major design elements. Additionally, the car has also been spied on undisguised already. As seen in the video, the new Verna has taken a radical turn in design & size. It is now based on the 'Sensuous Sportiness' philosophy of Hyundai. Therefore, the front design uses a connected LED headlight bar with a wide bonnet and LED headlights as well. Additionally, it now gets ADAS that can be seen fitted at the front bumper.
The side profile has also increased and the shape is all new. The alloy wheel design is also new and looks sophisticated. Moreover, the length of it is noticeable as it has grown really long. The new Verna will be the biggest sedan in its segment. Hence, we can expect it to be more spacious than its rivals like VW Virtus & Skoda Slavia. On the inside, the cabin is now more spacious and large. Also, the design of the dashboard is all-new & it is more driver-focused. The dual digital display includes a big infotainment system as well as the driver cockpit. Additionally, the steering wheel is also a new old-school-inspired two-spoke unit. Hyundai has also loaded it with features like front ventilated and heated seats, a panoramic sunroof, and loads of utility spaces.
The rear profile is very unique and interesting of it. It is based on a sporty roofline design that looks coupe-inspired. However, due to this design, it looks more mature as well as big. The LED taillights are connected to a LED bar that runs over the boot lid. Meanwhile, the boot space as shown in the video is humongous. Hyundai claims to have the biggest boot space on Verna in its segment.
Engine, Transmission, & Performance
Hyundai will be offering the new Verna with two engine options. Both of these are petrol only & therefore no diesel option. The first, which is seen in this video being tested, is the 1.5-lt NA petrol. It is the same unit that is used on the Hyundai Creta as well. It is mated to an option of a 6-speed manual & a 6-speed torque converter automatic. The second option is an all-new 1.5-lt turbo-petrol that will make its debut via the Verna. This engine shall come with a 7-speed DCt automatic transmission.
Speaking of the performance, as per the source video, the 1.5-lt NA is butter smooth and too powerful. The engine grunt and exhaust sound also sound sweet in the video. Additionally, the driver claims the transmission to be smooth as well. The ADAS tech seems to be taking over the steering whenever the car goes out of its lane.
