2024 Hero Mavrick 440: What To Expect?
The 2024 Hero Maverick 440, based on captured spy shots, showcases a classic roadster design. It features traditional telescopic front forks and a short front fender, giving it a sleek appearance. The circular headlamp with an H-shaped LED DRL pattern and LED turn signals at the front adds a modern touch. Notably, the circular mirrors are placed at the end of an upright handlebar, providing a comfortable riding position. Compared to the X440, the rider sits more upright, akin to the Triumph Speed 400, and the front footpeg positioning is not overly aggressive.
In the same shot, you'll spot a Harley-Davidson X440 cruising right alongside the Hero, allowing for a fantastic side-by-side look at these two bikes. This gives us an excellent opportunity to compare them closely. It's like having them right next to each other for an easy and clear view.
One distinctive feature is the muscular fuel tank, contributing to the roadster's character. The extensions lead to a faux air intake, enhancing its overall appeal. Alloy wheels, different from the X440, complement the design, along with a straight exhaust pipe reminiscent of its Harley-Davidson sibling. Unlike the typical fork setup, the Mavrick 440 opts for a smaller 17-inch front rim, deviating from the 19-inch wheel found on the HD.
The upcoming Hero Mavrick 440 is set to pack a punch with its 440 cc single-cylinder engine, delivering a robust 27 bhp and 38 Nm of torque. This power will be channelled through a six-speed transmission.

Safety is a priority, as the Maverick 440 will be equipped with front and rear disc brakes supported by a dual-channel ABS system. This ensures efficient braking performance for a secure riding experience. The bike might also feature a semi-digital unit, adding a modern touch to its design.
The price tag is expected to hover just above Rs. 2 lakh (ex-showroom). It's likely that the powertrain might get a slight tweak compared to the X440, making it a strong contender against Royal Enfield's 350 cc models, as well as the middleweight Jawas, Yezdis, and Honda CB350 range.
Verdict
The Hero Mavrick 440 seems to strike a balance between style and comfort, appealing to a broad audience with its upright riding position and user-friendly ergonomics. With a unique design inspired by the Harley-Davidson X440, it's poised to make a strong statement in the mid-range motorcycle segment.
