The new Jawa 42 FJ is an appealing motorcycle, it comes with different colour options, better dimensions, a new engine with enhanced performance, and offers a good blend of a retro and modern motorcycles. The neo-classic segment has gained traction in the Indian market and the new Jawa 42 FJ has the potential to be a fierce rival in the segment. However, rivals like the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 provide better value for money and benefit from an extensive network of service centers nationwide, which the Jawa currently lacks.

Appealing Design With Interesting Colour Options 8

• The new Jawa 42 FJ boasts different design elements as compared to the regular Jawa 42 motorcycle. The 42 FJ gets a round LED headlamp with an aluminum holder, a chunky 41mm telescopic front fork, and a chunky tire fitted with dual-spoke diamond-cut alloy wheels and a 320mm disc brake.
• On the sides, the new Jawa 42 FJ gets a new fuel tank design with aluminum cladding, multiple colour options, and graphics based on the colour theme. The engine casing is blacked out to give it a more mean look. It gets a single seat for the rider and pillion, an upswept dual exhaust setup,  and a split pillion grab rail. The rear gets a similar taillamp design as the regular Jawa 42.
• The Jawa 42 FJ is available in 5 colour options namely Deep Black Matte Red Clad, Deep Black Matte Black Clad, Cosmo Blue Matte, Mystique Copper, and Aurora Green Matte.

Better Dimensions & Hardware Than the Regular Variant 7.5

• Jawa 42 FJ gets updated dimensions to make it more dynamic to offer a better riding experience. The motorcycle gets a 790mm seat height which is a mere 2mm more than the regular 42 motorcycle. However, the wheelbase of the 42 FJ is 1,440 mm, and it gets higher ground clearance.
• For the hardware, it gets a double cradle frame with 41mm telescopic front forks, a dual-spring shock absorber with pre-load adjustment, a 320mm front disc brake, and a 240 mm rear disc brake. The braking is further aided by dual-channel ABS. It rides on 100/90-18 front wheel and 140/70-17 rear wheel

• On the features front, the Jawa 42 FJ gets a digital instrument cluster, USB charging port, dual-channel ABS, assist, and slipper clutch. The features on the motorcycle are quite limited and in a similar price range there are motorcycles with better features on offer.

• The major difference in the new Jawa 42 FJ and the regular Jawa 42 is the engine. The 42 FJ comes with an all-new 350 Alpha2 engine which is a 334cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This engine produces 29.2 PS of power and 29.6 Nm of peak torque. The brand has mated this engine with a 6-speed gearbox. 
• As for the performance, the brand claims it to be a go-anywhere engine. Moreover, it is claimed to offer better and refined performance with its new throttle mapping and smart-gear-based mapping.

  I ride the bike and noticed that I got a mileage of around 30km on a steady speed and simple road. The mileage get little bit up down when we drive on hilly roads.
