As the end of the year approaches, the 19th edition of the Indian Car of The Year (ICOTY) and the 17th edition of the Indian Motorcycle of The Year (IMOTY) awards have been revealed. 2024 ICOTY & IMOTY Award Winners
The prestigious title of Indian Car of the Year for 2024 was given to the Hyundai Exter. Its standout features, innovative design, and exceptional performance distinguished it in a fiercely competitive segment. Concurrently, the Indian Motorcycle of the Year 2024 was awarded to the Royal Enfield Himalayan, highlighting its excellence in the two-wheeler market.
The 'Premium Car Award' under the ICOTY umbrella, and for 2024 has been received by the BMW 7 Series. Recognizing the growing demand of electric vehicles and aligned with great government initiatives, the ICOTY jury introduced the 'Green Car Award' in 2021, aimed at acknowledging manufacturers' contributions to the future of mobility. The Hyundai IONIQ 5 proudly secured the Green Car Award for the year 2024.
Every car and motorcycle that is eligible for these awards is a new model. Current vehicles with minor mechanical modifications, such as modified power or drivetrains, or cosmetic upgrades are not eligible for this award. It doesn't matter where they're from; all that matters is that they have to be made or assembled in India and sold in showrooms by November 30 of the preceding year.
