1. ADAS
The test mules of the upcoming Mahindra Thar 5 Door have time and again dropped hints at the ADAS sensors being incorporated with the longer Thar. This is highly likely to be introduced with the car and when launched, will be a big-time upgrade when compared to the Force Gurkha 5 door. The fact that the recently launched Mahindra XUV 3XO offered a Lvl-2 ADAS, makes its inclusion, almost a confirmation.
2. Dual-Zone Climate Control
Another feature that the 5 Dor Thar is highly likely to offer is dual-zone automatic climate control. This is a highly practical feature that is missing on the 5 Door Gurkha, which the Mahindra is known to offer in higher trims of their new launches. Additionally, a lot rides on this longer wheelbase Thar, and keeping up with the hype, this makes a sensible addition.
3. Fully Digital Instrument Console
The traditional analogues on the instrument cluster of the Thar are all set to be replaced by a fully digital instrument console that will aid the driver with all the info in digital format. However, lower trims will continue with the same cluster as the current 3-door Thar.

4. Panoramic Sunroof
A much-needed amenity in modern times is a sunroof and what better than a panoramic if you get one? As per previous leaks, the upcoming Mahindra Thar 5-door was spotted with a single-pane sunroof in almost all the sightings. It was long after that a test mule was spotted with alloys and a panoramic sunroof unit, catering to the popular demand of the prospective buyers.
5. 360-Degree Camera
A vehicle of this size needs extra care while maneuvering and keeping this in mind, the sightings have revealed a camera mount under the ORVM confirming the presence of a 360-degree camera module.
Verdict
The Mahindra Thar 5 door is inching closer to launch with every passing day and a renewed push to the off-road segment. With a rich set of features, a family friendly approach, and trusted mechanicals promises to make it a leader in the segment. However, we need to see how the 3 door and the 5 door Thar models split in the sales volumes.
