Ather 450X Charging Time Rule Details
As per the new charging time rule, Ather has ditched the complete charge for its customers. According to Ather, the charging at Grid will stop once the 80 percent mark is achieved. Why so? It is because the time taken to completely charge a scooter is considerably high. In fact, the 0-80 percent time is less than the 80-100 percent charging time. Hence, it is beneficial for customers as well as Ather to stop charging at 80 percent. It'll eventually reduce the waiting period on Ather Grid across India.
Meanwhile, Ather is also planning to remove the solenoid. A solenoid supplied the electricity to the battery. However, there have been some EV cases where the charging was removed and the solenoid was still active. Thus, fire-related incidents have happened in various cases. Hence, the removal of it'll ensure more safety of owners. Meanwhile, the overall time reduction will also help Ather owners become more responsible. The dependability on the Ather Grid will reduce drastically in the future; as per the company. Additionally, owners will get habitual of completely charging their products at home/office.
Verdict
The Ather Grid stations are developed for emergency charging. Hence, the new decision of topping up the battery up to only 80 percent is justifiable.
