Honda Dio 125 Vs Hero Xoom 125; Design

In terms of design, both scooters are based on their original siblings; the Dio 125 looks far more familiar as it has not changed by too much in the last few years, at least when viewed from thr front. The side panels and the rear section draw inspiration from the discontinued Grazia. It gets a healthy dose of black on certain parts, in order to add some sportiness to the already-sharp and snazzy design.

Sitting in the other corner is the Xoom 125, which is an evolution of the Xoom 110, but it looks sportier, with the usage of sharper, more aggressively-designed body panels. Much like the Dio 125, the Xoom 125 also comes with its headlamp placed centrally on the apron, along with turn-indicators embedded on the handlebar. There is a mix of grey and black bits to add some sportiness, and there is also a small visor treatment up front. The 14-inch wheels on both ends also give it a meaner stance. This round is purely subjective and depends on your personal tastes.

Honda Dio 125 Vs Hero Xoom 125; Engine And Hardware
The Dio 125 and the Xoom 125 are quite different when it comes down to the numbers. The Xoom 125 is the heavier one, and it is also more powerful, However, while both of them produce the same amount of torque, the Dio 125's 10.4Nm comes in just a bit earlier at 5000rpm. The Xoom 125 is clearly focused on the enthusiast, as Hero claims it to be the fastest accelerating 125cc scooter.

The Xoom 125 comes with the longest wheelbase in the segment, while the Dio 125's lesser kerb weight should make it more managaeble for various types of riders. The fuel tank on both scooters is nearly the same size, but the Xoom's focus on performance should probably make a difference in terms of efficiency; something we will have to clarify later. Below is a table with detailed specifications.

Verdict
The Xoom 125 is clearly the sportier scooter out of the two, with more power, faster acceleration, and the larger wheels should also make it a better handler. Meanwhile, Honda is banking on the success of the Dio nametag as it replaces the Grazia. It now also has the features to take on the Xoom 125. However, purely in terms of the value, it is the Hero that wins it here, as it offers more scooter for lesser price.
