Royal Enfield Himalayan 750 Spied Testing

Recent spy shots suggest that the Himalayan 750 will carry a more muscular and imposing stance than its Himalayan 450 sibling. Notable elements include a newly designed, taller windscreen likely being tested for optimal wind protection, which could offer an adjustable feature as well, along with a reworked engine bash plate for extra protection while off the roads. Royal Enfield appears to be trying different versions of these components to improve rider comfort and ensure better protection from rough terrain and flying debris, hinting at the bike's adventure-touring focus.

Also, the engine units now appear a lot chunkier than before, thanks to the bigger displacement in sight and other tweaks to the Himalayan to accommodate the larger unit. The Himalayan 750 is shaping up to be a more robust and touring-oriented version of the 450. It sports a taller, adjustable windscreen, half fairing, and a new split dual-cradle frame with a bolted subframe. The seat is expected to be height-adjustable, and the bike could weigh around 220 kg. Suspension duties will likely be handled by USD forks (possibly adjustable) and a rear monoshock. It runs on a 19-/17-inch spoke wheel setup, and a dual-disc front brake system is set to provide ample stopping power for its adventure credentials. Although some of these elements could differ at the time of the launch, we will have to see what makes the cut.

Engine Details: Himalayan Goes Big!

Royal Enfield's upcoming Himalayan 750 is expected to take a more road-friendly, touring-centric approach compared to the off-road-focused Himalayan 450. Both models will be sold alongside each other. The 750 will reportedly feature an upsized version of the current 648cc parallel-twin engine, likely debuting on the Interceptor and Continental GT 750 at EICMA 2025. With the larger displacement, output figures could rise to around 5055 bhp and 6065 Nm, enhancing its highway performance and long-distance touring capabilities over the existing engine.

The new engine will debut with a different RE model at the EICMA 2025 and then will be launched with the Himalayan. As for the launch, it could possibly hit Indian shores by the later half of 2026.

Verdict

The bigger Himlayan will cater to those who are looking for more power with their adventure tourer and plan on going longer miles than ususal. The 750cc mill will be a substantial upgrade over the existing model, and will demand a premium of the same magnitude. But should you wait for it and do you really need that extra grunt, is something that you can better answer for yourself.
