With the wave of electric mobility, the development of two wheeler and four wheeler EVs has gained a decent pace. Though being a cleaner resource of power as compared to internal combustion engines, one of the major problems faced by EV owners is range anxiety! The real world range deviates way too much when compared to the one being shown on the MID (Multi Information Display). No one is keen on being left bereft or stranded in the middle of the road with no power! So, certain enterprises have begun following the cult of swappable batteries and Bounce infinity is one of them.

This is a Bengaluru based startup that released its first electric scooter in December 2021 by the name of Infinity E1, which is equipped with swappable batteries. To strengthen their battery swapping network, they have joined hands with a Jaipur based startup named BattRE, which would help them make their connectivity and reachability more robust.
With its aims to increase its vehicle portfolio on offer with multiple electric scooters, bikes and motorcycles, the brand seems to dig deep into its research and development operations and plan things as per the feasibility. In the initial phase of their joint venture with BattRE, they plan on deploying at least three hundred battery swapping centres in the top cities in India.
Bounce Infinity has set up its aims high with a long term set focus and plans to expand its sales operations in the country and set up seven hundred dealerships with four new products along with its current offerings, which are currently being retailed through 380 dealerships in India. With this collaboration, it would be a significant step up for the brand in terms of battery swapping network expansion and accessibility.
Battery swapping technology being introduced in India would be a breakthrough as the scooter running out of charge can reach their nearest charging station and swap their discharged battery for a fully charged one within a matter of one to two minutes. This would also save time and energy of the consumer along with elimination of the range anxiety everyone faces. These stations would thus be set up at prime locations in the city like residential societies, key parking spaces, fuel pumps, shopping mall parking lots, corporate offices and campuses and even at some big Kirana stores.
Battery swapping technology would help to bring down the ex-showroom price of an electric scooter as the user would end up paying the amount just for the scooter and can simply own a battery separately. This would open up the scope of BaaS (Battery as a Service) system, which would be successful for all kinds of users and prove to be a decent value proposition. Having its own unique challenges, the brand poses a positive outlook toward this technology and finds it to fetch immense potential in the modern fast moving lives of an individual.
