Mahindra has tied up with the BPCL-Jio charging stations to provide a charging network for its upcoming XUV 400 electric car. The new JV is aimed to provide charging support to EV owners pan India. According to the new venture, DC charging stations will be set up at various Mahindra dealerships as well as the workshops.

BPCL-JIO Pulse Charging Station Details
As per the new venture, the BPCL and JIO industries have planned to set up these charging stations in 16 cities initially. These charging stations will have the fast charging DC set up. This setup will help the various EV owners to utilize the service on the go. Additionally, the charging stations will also help the new owners who will buy the upcoming XUV 400 electric. Mahindra XUV 400 is going to be the first electric car from the maker. It is scheduled to be launched in India by the first quarter of 2023.
Meanwhile, BPCL is also working separately with various manufacturers to establish more such charging stations. These upcoming charging stations shall be set up across the BPCL fuel stations in megacities as such Bangalore. Additionally, these charging stations shall help the new EV owners to use their products without concern about range anxiety.
However, the BPCL-JIO Pulse app will help the owners to access the nearest charging stations. These nearest charging stations can also be booked in advance so that the users can access their slots without waiting on the road. Additionally, we expect that such a system shall also be enriched in the upcoming XUV 400 also. Such a system shall be calibrated in the infotainment system. The users will be easily able to access the nearest charging stations from the infotainment system.
Verdict
Considering the expansion of EVs in India, such JVs are aligned to help the new owners a lot. Additionally, the availability of charging stations to EV users irrespective of the brand they own is a big step ahead in eliminating the range anxiety issue which is often faced by EV owners in India.
