Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE India Launch Details
As seen in the spy video, the ADV bike is camouflaged but looks production-ready underneath. As it is a global model, road testing is being done to make slight changes to the already well-made ADV bike. The V-Strom 800 is a popular ADV globally. However, its absence in India is widely felt by the enthusiasts. Now, the first spy video indicates that Suzuki will launch the Triumph Tiger 850 Sport & BMW F 850 GS rival in India soon. The duo of bikes seen has the same shade of spoke wheels i.e. brass yellow. This shade is also seen in the global model.
Speaking of its design, it'll mimic the bigger V-Strom 1050. The upright set vertical front design is supported via an adjustable windscreen. Also, it'll get an LED light setup as well as features like a semi-digital instrument console. We also expect it to get the Suzuki Xonnect connected features for smartphone connectivity. Other features will include multiple riding modes, ABS modes, traction control, etc.
Suzuki has equipped the global model with a 776cc parallel-twin engine. This engine generates a peak power output of 84.3 PS & a peak torque of 78 Nm. A 6-speed transmission is offered on the V-Strom 800. Other technical features include - USD front adjustable suspension, monoshock adjustable rear suspension, spoke rims with tubeless tyres, etc.
Verdict
Road testing is basically considered the last phase of testing before the launch. As visible in the video, these test mules indicate that the bike is almost ready for its Indian debut. Suzuki might debut the new iteration of the 800 DE in India. Hence, we expect that it'll launch around late 2023 or early 2024. Its launch price bracket might be somewhere around Rs 11 lakh to Rs 12 lakh.
