Citroen Basalt: A Unique SUV
The automaker showcased the near-production model of the Basalt a few months back in India. The coupe. SUV will measure around 4.3 metres in length. While it currently doesn't have any straight rivals in the Indian market, it will compete with the upcoming Tata Curvv. The Basalt could also be a unique alternative to the traditional SUVs available in India such as Grand Vitara, Seltos, Taigun, Creta and others.
Citroen Basalt Design
Basalt derives its front fascia from the C3 SUV. The coupe SUV gets a two-part grille, LED headlights and DRLs and a skid plate. The SUV was showcased with gun-metal finish alloy wheels. However, we are not sure if the production model will get these alloys or not. Additionally, there is a blacked-out extension on the C-Pillar highlighting the sloping roofline of the SUV. Talking about the rear profile, the Basalt comes with wrap-around LED tail lights, a silver Fauz skid plate and most importantly an integrated spoiler.
Features
However, there is not much information available regarding the features of the coupe SUV. But, we expect Citroen Basalt to offer some standard features such as keyless entry, automatic climate control, wireless charging and electrically foldable ORVMs. There is also a possibility that Citroen will offer an ADAS suite for the top-end variant of the coupe SUV.
Citroen Basalt Rivals in India
Citroen is carving a new niche with the Basalt in India. While many other automakers are working on their products with the same design. Once launched, the upcoming Basalt will go against the likes of Tata Curvv in India.
Citroen Basalt Expected Price
However, the company has always remained tight-lipped regarding the price of the upcoming SUV. Taking note of its competitors, we are expecting it to come with a starting price tag of 15 lakh going up to 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
