Ducati India has finally launched the all-new Ducati Hypermotard 698 mono in India. Despite getting fewer features than the Ducati Hypermotard 950 RVE, the 698 Mono comes with a higher price tag. The Ducati Hypermotard 698 mono will be made available in India via the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route. Ducati Hypermotord 698 Mono: Features
On the feature front, the Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono features a 3.8-inch LCD instrument console. It also gets features such as Ducati traction control, cornering ABS, four ride modes and Engine Brake Control. Additionally, there are 3 power modes- Low, Mid and High and 4 riding modes including Sport, Road, Urban and Wet.
Design
The all-new Hypermotard 698 Mono derives some of its design elements from its bigger version, the Hypermotard 950. Apart from this, it features an LED light that looks similar to the Hypermotard 950 and a clean tail section. The exhaust pipes are positioned underneath the tailpiece which reflects the Ducati Hypermotard signature design.
Hardware
The Hypermotard 698 Mono is based on a steel trellis frame further attached with a steel-tube sub-frame and an aluminium swingarm. Additionally, there are 45mm fully adjustable Marzochhi Upside-down forks in the front and Sachs mono-shock at the backside. The ADV motorcycle gets 17-inch alloy wheels with Pirelli Diablp Rosso IV tyres. For the braking, the Hypermotard 698 mono has a 330 mm disc (front) with a Brembo M4.32 4-piston radial calliper and a 240mm disc at the backside.
Performance
The all-new Ducati Hypermotoard is powered by a 659cc liquid-cooled engine which is named Superquadro Mono by the manufacturer. This powerhouse generates 76.43 bhp of power and 62.76 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm and comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch.
Price and Rivals
Ducati India has launched the Hypermotard 698 Mono with a price tag of Rs. 16.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The new ADV motorcycle will compete with the likes of the Husqvarna 701 Supermoto and KTM 690 SMC R in India.
