Kia has finally taken the wraps off its first Kia Seltos facelift. And while this brings with it a lot of new features and updates, what's left under the carpet is the pricing. The retail tags are still away from leaks and any official statements. Nonetheless, we have a mid-trim in a walkaround video with us.
Let's look at what the HTX trim of the facelifted Seltos packs is and whether is it worth betting your dimes on.
Kia Seltos Facelift HTX Variant Walkaround
Coming to the exterior, the new Seltos is unquestionably and easily recognizable Seltos from pre-facelift times. And that is no bummer, what a pretty neatly designed facia it is. But since looks are subjective, it is what it is and we leave this up to you.

While the HTX variant boasts 17" dual-tone alloy wheels, the GT Line and X Line variants are equipped with larger 18" units. Rear disc brakes are standard across all trim levels. The HTX variant further enhances its exterior aesthetics with chrome door handles and window lines, along with silver roof rails.
The new Kia Seltos HTX compact SUV shares design changes with higher trims, including a larger Kia Tiger nose grille, new LED DRLs, LED headlights, four-cube LED fog lamps, front parking sensors, and a silver faux skid plate. However, it does not have the ADAS module or front camera and is reserved for the top trims.
The rear of the new Kia Seltos HTX features the same LED tail light design as the top trims, connected LED beam, and LED turn indicators. It also includes a rear defogger, washer, and wiper for added convenience. You can notice a similarity with Caren's tail lamp assembly.
Interiors
The HTX trim now offers a pretty good space inside the cabin. The first thing you will notice is the dashboard with 2 displays. A fully digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment unit. This is a bump up from the outgoing model.
Talking about the features, it doesn't disappoint. It gets plenty of tech like a panoramic sunroof. dual-zone climate control, cruise control, drive modes, auto-dimming IRVM, air purifier, rear AC vents, and Kias telematics and SOS functions. Rear window sunblinds, 3-point seatbelts, and 3 headrests are the offerings for second-row passengers.
However, you will miss out on the ventilated seats, for which you would have to jump onto higher trims.
Powertrain
The new Kia Seltos HTX variant is offered with two engine options. The first is a 1.5L naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine, delivering 113 bhp of power and 144 Nm of torque. It is available with a 6-speed manual transmission and an IVT. The second engine option is a 1.5L turbo diesel engine, providing 113 bhp of power and 250 Nm of torque. It can be paired with a 6-speed iMT or a 6-speed torque converter.
Verdict
The new Kia Seltos HTX variant offers a stylish and modern compact SUV option with notable design changes. It is equipped with desirable features and engine options, providing a compelling package for those in search of a well-equipped and stylish vehicle. If you need Turbo petrol engien and ventilated seats, higher trims are there for you.
