Force Motors is soon going to launch a new SUV in the Indian market. The Force Gurkha 5-Door SUV has already been showcased at the Ksatria Defence Expo. This expo took place in Indonesia where the SUV was on display. Meanwhile, the production of the 5-door Gurkha has already begun in India. The export models have been spied recently with production tags in India. Read below the complete details of it.
Force Gurkha 5-Door Launch Details
The export models being spied on indicate the start of production. However, it is not sure whether domestic production has also started or not. Meanwhile, the spied SUV models showcase the exact details to us. The overall design is more or less similar to the current Gurkha SUV. However, the addition of two more doors & the elongated wheelbase is also bluntly visible. The size of Gurkha has always been massive but the 5-door version has taken the dimensions one step ahead. Additionally, the use of design elements like the ladder at the rear end & long vertical ORVMs makes it more butch.
Meanwhile, the round LED headlights, vertical taillights, front grille, etc., are similar to the current Gurkha. Additionally, the interior design is also expected to remain the same. The dashboard, steering wheel, & seats also ought to remain the same. However, the addition of a second -row means the addition of power window buttons and a center armrest too. These seats will be captain seats. Additionally, the features include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display, & manual AC controls.
The 5-door Gurkha will keep using the same 2.6-lt, turbo-diesel engine. It is sourced from Mercedes-Benz & makes a peak power of 90 bhp & 250 Nm of peak torque. It is offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox & a manual 4X4 shift lever. Additionally, it also gets manually locking front & rear differentials. The Gurkha is loved for its hardcore 4X4 performance. We suspect that the upcoming model will also provide a similar experience.
Verdict
The 5-door variant is already being exported to global markets. However, it will not be any time sooner before the Indian Auto Expo 2023 that it gets launched in India. Its main rival will be the upcoming Mahindra Thar 5-Door & Maruti Jimny 5-Door. We expect the launch price of the 5-door Gurkha around Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom).
