RDE Compliant Engine

Hyundai has modified the engine with the new facelift to comply with the upcoming RDE (Real Driving Emission) requirements. The BS6 phase 2 compliance, which will be put into effect in April 2022, includes the RDE norms. The engine is also prepared for E20 fuel. The 1.2-liter NA petrol engine that powers the Grand i10 Nios facelift cranks out 83 bhp of output and 113.8 Nm of maximum torque. This engine is paired with an AMT and 5-speed manual transmission. Additionally, the 1.2-liter engine has a CNG powertrain that produces 95.2 Nm of torque and 69 bhp of power.

Maruti Suzuki, on the other hand, still needs to modify the engine to comply with the future RDE requirements.

Better Safety Features

Hyundai has placed a strong emphasis on safety with the Grand i10 Nios facelift. In the new facelift, the company offers 4 airbags as standard equipment and 6 airbags as an option. Additionally, the Grand i10 Nios has hill hold assist available in both manual and AMT versions, but the Swift only has dual front airbags and this functionality in AMT versions.
