  • New exterior, interior and with Palisade like rear lights.
  • The all new Alcazar is expected to release in India in September or October of 2024.

The Hyundai Alcazar, the extended wheelbase version of the Hyundai Creta, was recently seen undergoing testing on Indian roads in camouflage. The photos reveal a new shape for the vehicle. Earlier in 2024, Hyundai introduced the much-anticipated Creta facelift, and now it's the Alcazar's turn to hit the road.

Let's delve a little more into the spy shots of this SUV. But before that, make sure to join our 91Wheels WhatsApp Group for the latest and exciting automotive updates.

New Exterior Design of Upcoming Hyundai Alcazar

The front end of the Alcazar will be similar to the new Creta, though we can expect Hyundai to make some changes to the grille, as they have done before. The Alcazar is not just a 7-seater variant of the Creta; it is a more luxurious model altogether. Additionally, the spy shots reveal a new set of rims that are quite similar to the R17 diamond-cut alloys seen on the Creta.

Contrary to the front end, the rear appears to be more like that of a Hyundai Palisade, according to several media reports suggesting its potential launch in India. The taillight design reminds us of the Palisade, although one will have to wait to get an actual glimpse of the SUV.

Powertrain Setup of Hyundai Alcazar

We can anticipate that the Alcazar will receive the same engine options as the Creta. However, due to its longer wheelbase and additional weight, Hyundai will exclude the 1.5-litre MP1 naturally aspirated petrol engine. Instead, it will likely feature the 1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel and the 1.5-litre Turbo GDi petrol engines, which are already part of the lineup and expected to continue.

The diesel engine creates 116 PS and 250 NM of maximum torque, and the turbo petrol with 160 PS and 253 NM of maximum torque and it takes 10.21 seconds to reach 0 to 100 Km/h.

Expected Features of Hyundai Alcazar

We know the Alcazar will include all the features of the new Creta, plus a few more. The most notable among them will be the 10.25-inch touchscreen, Hyundai Level 2 ADAS, ambient lighting, dual-zone automatic climate control, and surround-view monitor. Additionally, we can anticipate an increase in the asking price by Rs 50,000 to 75,000, depending on the model. Currently, it starts at Rs 19.75 lakh and goes up to Rs 25.14 lakh.

Competitors of Hyundai Alcazar

When the Hyundai Alcazar launches, it will compete against the Mahindra XUV 700, Mahindra Scorpio N, MG Hector Plus, and Kia Carens. Currently, the Scorpio N leads as the highest-selling 7-seater vehicle in this category, but the Alcazar has the potential to surpass it.

We hope more cars will join this list, as this segment offers an exciting space for automakers to showcase their creativity and deliver value-packed machines.
