The Hyundai Creta offers a diverse range of powertrain options including both EV and ICE options. Buyers can choose from a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 115 PS and 144 Nm of torque, available with a 6-speed manual or a CVT transmission. For those seeking more power, there's a 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine generating 160 PS and 253 Nm of torque, offered with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT. Finally, a 1.5-liter diesel engine provides 116 PS and 250 Nm of torque, coupled with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

As for the electric avatar, the standard Creta Electric delivers 135 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque, powered by a 42 kWh battery pack offering a claimed range of 390 km. For those seeking extended range, the Hyundai Creta Electric Long Range variant provides a more powerful 171 PS output while maintaining 200 Nm of torque, utilizing a larger 51.4 kWh battery that boasts a claimed range of 473 km.

Verdict

Hyundai, which was once known for its small hatch, the Santro Xing, pivoted in a big way to being a major SUV player in the compact segment. What Creta has done for the brand, very few models have achieved it so far, especially creating a whole new category and aided in its mass acceptance. And no doubt, the SUV is a pretty good package with almost everything buyers want, leaving a lot less to be desired.
