Hyundai's Maruti Fronx Rival To Launch In 2026?
As mentioned in the online report, Hyundai is developing a rival to Fronx, which is codenamed 'Bc4i'. This competitor is meant to defeat the newly formed crossover segment, including cars like the Citroen C3, Toyota Taisor, and more. Hyundai will use Bayon's platform for developing this new model, which is essentially a crossover that is based on the i20. Additionally, it is likely to get a coupe-like appeal, which will make it a differently positioned car in the segment due to its compelling design. Even the Bayon has a distinctive design, as it is sold in select global markets.
Due to the platform sharing, there will be numerous cycle parts like the interior design and engine options, that it'll share with the i20 or the Venue. The report also claims that Hyundai aims to produce it alongside the new Venue, which is suspected to launch in 2025. With the addition of this new crossover, Hyundai aims to achieve a 1 lakh production target for its SUVs. This crossover will be positioned below the Creta and alongside the Venue, hence, pricing is likely to revolve around the Rs 10-15 lakh bracket. As of now, the expected launch timeline is FY2027, indicating that it could possibly debut by late 2026 in India.
