The Hyundai Tucson has been around since 2022, but it has now scored a full five stars at the latest crash tests at the Bharat NCAP. Interestingly, it is the first Hyundai to have been crash tested at the Bharat NCAP.

Hyundai Tucson 5 Stars At Bharat NCAP: Insights
The Tucson scored 30.84 out of 32.00 points in adult occupancy safety, offering 'adequate' protection to the driver's chest and feet in the front offset deformable barrier test. However, protection to rest of the areas, and to the front passenger overall has been rated 'good'.
The Tucson also scored a full 16.00 out of 16.00 points in the side movable deformable barrier test, as protection in said test was rated 'good. It also similarly in the side pole impact test as well. In terms of child occupancy, the Tucson scored 41.00 out of 49.00 points.
Hyundai sent the petrol version of the Tucson, and these safety ratings apply to both the Signature and Platinum variants. The Tucson comes with two engine options; a 2.0-litre nat-asp paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission, and a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
In terms of safety, the Tucson comes with a level-2 ADAS suite, ISOFIX child seat mounts, six airbags, adaptive cruise control, hill-start assist control, vehicle stability management, a tyre pressure monitoring system and more. The Tucson is available in eight variants, with prices ranging between Rs 29.01 lakh to Rs 35.94 lakh (ex-showroom).

Verdict
The Tucson has had quite the journey in India, and in its current guise, it has been a bit silent for a while. However, this news shall certainly help raise some interest around it. The Tucson proves to be a solid contender amongst rivals like the Tiguan, Kodiaq and the Meridian.
