The 2020 Kawasaki Versys 1000 BS6 is completely identical to the BS4 model except for the fact that it now gets revised mechanicals to comply with the new stricter BS6 emission norms. So, first of all, starting with the engine, it is powered by a 1043cc, liquid-cooled, Inline-four engine that churns out a whopping 120 PS of power at 9000 RPM and 102 Nm of peak torque at 7500 RPM. The engine comes coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox and it gets plenty of electronic riding aids about which we will talk later in this article.

Aesthetically, the Kawasaki Versys 1000 is a very good looking touring motorcycle. Upfront, it gets a twin LED headlamp set up that gets low/high beam as well as a position lamp to offer a great illumination power. It also gets an adjustable windscreen along with long-travel suspension set-up to offer you a comfortable long ride on every type of terrain. The Kawasaki Versys 1000 also gets petal disc brakes at both the ends with a 310mm twin-disc set-up at the front that contribute to its formidable stopping power.

Talking about other features, the Versys 1000 BS6 gets Kawasaki's Intelligent Anti-lock Braking System (KIBS), a Bosch IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) that controls Kawasaki's Cornering Management Function (KCMF), Kawasaki Traction Control (KTC), Electronic Cruise Control, an Assist & Slipper Clutch, Electronic Throttle Valves, and many more. It also gets a semi-analogue semi-digital instrument cluster loaded with a lot of information and the motorcycle has an upright stance which is very comfortable to ride during long-distance touring.

Lastly, talking about the price, the 2020 Kawasaki Versys 1000 BS6 has been launched in India at Rs. 10.99 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi which is just around 10,000 rupees dearer than the BS4 model. Also, it is worth mentioning that in April this year it got an Rs. 20,000 price hike for no reason and thus the actual transition cost from BS4 to BS6 is around 30,000 rupees. However, it is still one of the best motorcycles in its class for the price it asks. It is sold in India in two colour variants: Pearl Stardust White/Metallic Spark Black and Candy Lime Green/Metallic Spark Black.
