The Hero Xoom 125 is among the most interesting 125cc out there right now, and hence it makes sense to compare it with some other names that have been around for a while. The Suzuki Avenis has been around since 2021, and we thought of pitting the two against one another, considering that both these scooters compete in the same segment.

Hero Xoom 125 Vs Suzuki Avenis: Design

As mentioned plenty of times before, the Xoom 125 looks like an evolution of the Xoom 110, with the usage of sharper, more aggressively designed body panels, along with black and grey treatment on certain areas to lay emphasis on its sporty intentions. The 14-inch wheels give it a taller, meaner stance as well.

In comparison, the Avenis draws inspiration from certain other 125cc scooters, and it also follows the typical sporty scooter design traits, such as the apron-mounted headlamp, the handlebar-mounted turn indicators, and the rear section with twin LED tail lamps and the motorcycle-like turn indicators. The smaller 12-inch front and 10-inch rear wheel setup makes it look tamer and shorter than the Xoom 125.

Hero Xoom 125 Vs Suzuki Avenis: Powertrain And Hardware

Once again, the Xoom 125 clearly has the edge in terms of performance, delivering more power and torque. While both of them are quite similar in terms of hardware, the Xoom 125 is going to be a more potent handler thanks to its larger wheel setup and a heavier kerb weight. However, a flip side is that the added weight might prove to be a slight disadvantage in daily traffic conditions.

The Suzuki Avenis, even with slightly lesser power and torque figures, is not going to be a slouch either. We have already seen what this engine can do in the Access 125 in terms of acceleration, and the story is no different with the Avenis either. It also adds in more refinement, even at speeds of 90kmph. Its lighter kerb weight of 102kg will also make it better when dealing with daily traffic conditions. However, its smaller wheel setup and softer suspension setup may not make it as good a handler as the Hero.

Verdict
This will be a difficult one to uncover. While the Xoom 125 clearly has an edge over the Avenis in terms of performance, both of them are quite close in terms of features. Plus, the Avenis offers a more balanced approach, as it comes with decent performance and it is marginally easier in terms of daily usability. The Hero does trump it on price grounds, but here it depends on what your needs are from a scooter.
