Kia Motors has been working on the facelifted version of the Kia Carens for some time now. The updated Carens will make its way to India by the next year. The news today is that the automaker will start the series production of the updated MPV in May 2025. Till now, we have seen the test mules of the upcoming MPV multiple times. Kia Carens facelift Updates
The upcoming Carens facelift was recently spotted on test in South Korea and India as well. Most changes will be visible on the design front that will enhance the MPV's visual appeal. These updates include an updated bumper, new grille and headlamps. The facelifted Carens will also get some notable updates inside the cabin which include a new dashboard layout, similar to the Seltos. It will get some feature additions as well which include safety features such as an ADAS Level 2 suite and a 360 degree camera. It will be the segment's first car to get ADAS suite.
Carens Facelift to be Available in EV Guise
The Carens facelift will source its power from a Naturally Aspirated 1.5 litre engine that puts out 115 hp and a 1.5 litre turbo petrol unit that produces 160 hp. Also, there is a 1.5 litre diesel option that makes 116 hp. For transmission duties, the Carens ICE will get the same manual and automatic gearbox. On the other hand, the electric powertrain will be a new things, details of which are unknown yet. If available in the electric iteration in the same timeline, it will compete with the BYD eMAx 7 in our region.
Kia Carens Facelift India Launch
The Kia Carens facelift is expected to launch in India by the Q2 of 2025. Initially, the company will produce atleast 2,000 units of the Carens EV a month. The Carens facelift will go against the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Maruti Suzuki XL6 just like now.
